I don’t have much of a reason to make Halloween cards, so I incorporated the few Halloween products I have with some other Stampin’ Up products. I also challenged myself to make a card with no white cardstock.
The project began and centered around the Aspen Tree in black cardstock. Next, I cut Blackberry Bliss cardstock the long way to make a ‘Z’ fold. I wanted color behind the trees and settled on the Blackberry Pretty Prints DSP. Then I experimented with various “BOO!” sentiments on the DSP using embossing powders, I settled on the black. The Aspen tree was mounted on the DSP using multiple Black dimensionals, both sizes. I finished off the front with ‘bats’ (seagulls from the Waterfall Dies), a Highland Heather witch’s hat and a few Black Matte Dots.
The inside of the card I centered around the witch’s feet. I stamped them on various colors of cardstock but settled on Highland Heather. I also used the Stamparatus to re-ink the stamp several times to get the boots dark enough. The image was colored a bit then fussy cut. I mounted the top of the boots with a wobble.
The inside sentiment needed to be a bit higher to accommodate the wobble, so I used 3 layers of Black dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink on Highland Heather cardstock, cut out using the smallest Decked Rectangle die and mounted on Black cardstock that was cut using the 2nd to smallest Deckled Rectangle die. I added a few more ‘bats’ to the banner.
