Thanksgiving Blog Hop

Thanksgiving is a time of celebration and gathering with loved ones. The things that come to mind are family, love, good food…and WINE!! So, I centered my Thanksgiving card around a wine bottle using the Bottled Happiness wine bottle.

A wine bottle has many uses, all of them centered around Thanksgiving. Wine, an empty bottle with a candle in it & greenery around the bottom and as a vase for flowers.

The first step taken was to die cut the circles in the correct/exact locations throughout the card using the 4th smallest circle from the Layer Circles dies. I marked all the pieces lightly with a pencil so the cuts would be even and held the die in place using Post-it® cover-up tape.

COVER: Embossed vanilla cardstock using the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder then lightly ran the long side of the Soft Pastels in Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight & Poppy Parade to make the images pop. The chalk was slightly rubbing off, so I painted them with Wink of Stella to stop that; it also added a bit of glitz. The bottle stopper was stamped, fussy cut then glued above the open circle (the edge hung down a bit, so I use snips to trim in along the arc. The sentiment was stamped in Pear Pizzazz on a vanilla scrap using the Let’s Celebrate You stamp from the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set but the ‘You‘ was masked off. The banner was made using the smallest rounded edge tag die from Tailor Made Tags dies. To get it a bit longer, the cardstock & edge was placed over the edge of the cutting mats, then repositioned to cut it the rest of the way keeping the already cut cardstock over the edge. The stamped banner was adhered with Satin Ribbon & dimensionals. The front of the card was embellished with the gold pearls from the Festive Pearls.

MIDDLE: Using the Sentiment Silhouettes dies, the candle was cut out using vanilla cardstock & a scrap of Metallic Gold cardstock. It was glued over the open circle arc and trimmed to size. The oak leaves were stamped in Memento (masked when layering) then colored in using Stampin’ Blend Markers. The sentiment stamped in Pear Pizzazz is from the Flowers of Friendship stamp set.

INSIDE: The inside of the card is where the wine bottle was adhered down. The sunflowers from the Jar of Flowers stamp set were stamped in Memento and colored using the Stampin’ Blend Markers. The sentiment stamped in Pear Pizzazz is from the Charming Sentiments stamp set.
